Arts

We are a small, dedicated team with many years’ experience of working with teachers, artists, children and young people.   We are committed to delivering and brokering high quality cultural learning opportunities across art, drama, dance, media, written and spoken word in order to:

  • raise achievement in and through the arts;
  • foster a sense of enjoyment and fulfilment in learning through the arts;
  • increase the numbers of children and young people actively participating in arts and cultural activity;
  • ensure the arts and cultural offer is high quality, dynamic and relevant.

The ArtForms Arts Development offer for 2023/24 includes:

Support and guidance

This is available for schools that require bespoke support in the arts.   It can include:

  • Arts – strategic visioning and action planning
  • Art and/or D&T subject leader support and development
  • Art and/or D&T curriculum development
  • Whole staff training and teacher CPD (subject knowledge and practical skills)

This support can be purchased through the Leeds for Learning Store.   Depending on your requirements, schools can access different levels of support, ranging from a twilight session to two days of intensive support.   We tailor our support to support your needs and endeavour to provide a service which is value for money.  To discuss how we could work with you, please contact jane.zanzottera@leeds.gov.uk

CPD and Training

We deliver training throughout the year for primary Art and Design and Technology subject leaders.  Over three sessions, subject leaders will consider:

  • Effective subject leadership;
  • Developing specific subject knowledge (this includes practical, theoretical and disciplinary knowledge);
  • An in depth look at an aspect of the curriculum.

This training can be purchased on a ‘pay as you go’ basis.  However, schools will receive a discount when they book three training courses for the same subject.  For further information about primary Art and/or Design and Technology training, please visit Leeds for Learning.

Every half term, we run a Primary Art Network.  This can be accessed, free of charge, by any teacher with an interest in visual arts.  It is delivered virtually and takes place after school.   To see the dates for 2023/24, please visit Leeds for Learning.
