NEW for 2016! Explore Maya artwork through Maths with this cross curricular creative project.

Maya Maths Magic brings together Maths, History and Art in an exciting new project designed to bring the curriculum alive. The Maya people were sophisticated artists and mathematicians, using the two elements to create unique and beautiful art, sculpture and design. Working with a range of primary source material, pupils will be able to identify a range of characteristics typical of Maya art. Pupils will apply their knowledge of maths to explore various aspects of Maya art, including: number, multiplication, 2D Shape, symmetry, fractions and area.
