CHILDREN DELIGHT ARENA AUDIENCE WITH INCREDIBLE BIG SAMBA SHOW

Incredible memories were made this week for the 200 school children from Leeds who took part in this year’s Big Samba event. The performance, which closed the first day of Teach First’s conference at Leeds’ Arena, aimed to inspire and entertain an audience of over 3000 newly-qualified teachers and it did just that!

It was an unforgettable evening for the young performers, many of whom have had little or no exposure to live music, or have played in such a large venue.

The event is a perfect example of what quality music education can do and the opportunities it can create for children and young people. Launched in 2016 to tie in with the Rio Olympics, Big Samba is an annual event supported by Leeds Music Education Partnership (LMEP) and led by ArtForms Music in collaboration with Louder Than Life.

We love the Yorkshire Evening Post’s coverage of the Big Samba. See a clip of the performers in action, and read their article, here.
