MALAP stands for the ‘Multi Agency Looked After Partnership’. This network brings together partners, from across services and sectors, with a shared aim of improving outcomes for looked after children and young people in Leeds.
ArtForms facilitate the MALAP sub group, ‘Enjoy’. This sub group was established to:
- ensure looked after children and young people have access to leisure facilities
- work to identify and remove barriers for looked after children and young people to access activities eg transport
- develop activities and services to improve the self esteem of looked after children and young people
- develop an offer/ menu of group activities that looked after children and young people can access
The group has created a leaflet which gives a brief overview of the universal arts and sports offer for children and young people. Each area of activity has a named contact. Please click on the link below to see the leaflet.
Multi Agency Looked After Partnership (sub group Enjoy) and Leeds Beckett University worked together on a research project reporting on how children, who are looked after and living in Leeds, use their free time.
