Re-tell stories old and new, through poetry!

This workshop is designed to engage larger groups (delivery can be divided into morning or afternoon sessions for up to 75 participants in each.) Pupils are introduced to slam poetry and explore the role that poetry plays in popular culture. Working in teams, pupils write, perform and compete against each other in ‘rhyme battles’ based on the retelling of familiar stories such as fairy tales, mystery stories or tales from other cultures. The day ends in an X factor style showcase performance, in which teachers become judges and the whole school can be invited to watch.
