Chestra Trio at Wetherby Music Centre: Witness the enthusiasm of the Chestra Trio at the ArtForms Wetherby Music Centre as they play many instruments including harp, piano, violin, viola, flute, piccolo, clarinet, saxophones, recorders, guitar and mandolin. Their sessions go beyond music and encompass storytelling, language, cultural and social development, design and other expressive arts, physical education, history and science. Can’t make this event? They are also performing a month later at North Leeds Music Centre on Saturday 7th March.

Roots Alive Ceilidh: Dance the night away (with instructions!) accompanied by Roots Alive as they play traditional folk dance music. This event is always a good atmosphere and always leaves people wanting more.

We warmly invite you to watch ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog’ with the City of Leeds Youth Orchestra performing live.

The City of Leeds Youth Orchestra will be performing the score for our screening of this fantastic family Christmas film, which is the incredibly well-received sequel to the famous 1982 original. Join us for this special performance and revel in the Christmas spirit in front of a full-size orchestra!

The City of Leeds Youth Orchestra is a 70-strong group of young orchestral musicians playing at the highest standards. The orchestra is conducted by Mark Edwards, and welcomes string, woodwind, brass and percussion players of approximately Grade 6 standard and above. Generally, members are between 13 and 18 years old. CLYO play the full range of symphonic repertoire and perform in venues across Leeds.

In 2024 we performed two concerts for schools showing The Snowman, so it is fantastic that we are able to offer a similar opportunity again this year. The concerts for schools are now sold out but we still have some tickets remaining for the evening public performance at 6pm.

Join North Leeds Music Centre as we kick off the festive season in style!

We welcome families to a fun, high energy movement and music session in collaboration with DJ School UK and dance artist Rachel Dean. Expect an interactive session as we take over the dance studio for the morning.

This event is aimed at 3-7yr olds however EVERYONE is welcome! Tickets are limited and are on a first come first served basis. This event is free of charge although we will be taking donations on the door.

“You can be a drummer”
To celebrate this year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme of Marvellous Makers, join us for this
session led by Artforms, where you will learn how to make marvellous music, exploring the world
of rhythm, drumming improvisation and singing. This session will contain a mixture of West
African and contemporary rhythms and traditional songs, using Djembe drums and percussion
instruments. Children and their grown-ups of any ability are welcome to this inclusive event. Bring
your family and join the fun! Sessions delivered in collaboration with Leeds Music Centres, part of
Artforms.
