They will learn from our experienced ArtForms tutors\, make new friends\, and experience the thrill of playing in a large ensemble. \nThe day ends with a play-through at 2:30pm\, where they will show off what they have achieved – parents and families are warmly invited. It is a fantastic opportunity for the students to improve their skills\, boost their confidence\, and discover what ArtForms ensembles have to offer. \nWhat to Bring: \n\nInstrument\nPencil\nPacked lunch\nWater bottle\nEar defenders (if required)\nBook / homework / mini games for breaktime and lunchtime (no balls please!)\nAny medication / inhalers etc. (if required)\n\nStudents will not be able to leave the building during the day. The schools performances are now sold out. \nWe warmly invite you to watch ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog’ with the City of Leeds Youth Orchestra performing live. It is an important event for motivating and inspiring the next generation of young musicians coming up and we are delighted to be able to host this event. \nLast year\, we performed two concerts for schools showing The Snowman\, so it is fantastic that we are able to offer a similar opportunity again this year. We are limiting schools to one year group booking each. DESCRIPTION:North Leeds Music Centre Summer Music Festival 2025 – 21st June 2025\nCome and celebrate a brilliant year of music making at our Summer Music Festival — a joyful day of performances\, creativity and community! \nThere’ll be three stages featuring performances from our fantastic ensembles\, group players\, and 1:1 students\, plus a lively Open Mic stage for those who want to share something a little more spontaneous. Our amazing DJ students will also be spinning tracks throughout the day\, bringing festival vibes between sets! \nWe’re also running a cake sale\, so do bring along a cake if you’d like to contribute — just remember to include a list of ingredients. \nWe hope to celebrate everything our young musicians have achieved this year — and we’d love you to bring along friends and family to enjoy it with us. \nThe performances will run from 09:00 – 12:20. Please speak to your teachers for further details on timings.

SUMMARY:Secondary Singing Day with Craig Lees
DESCRIPTION:On Friday 14th March – 10:00-3:00 at Pudsey Civic Hall\, we are hosting the return of our annual secondary vocal workshop and performance event with Craig Lees of Leeds Conservatoire and Living Vocally.  All secondary schools in Leeds are invited to take part in this event for individual singers and choirs from KS3\, KS4 and 6th form.  The structure of the day will be to learn 2 pop song arrangements in multiple parts and then to perform them en masse at the end of the day.  Regular breaks will be planned throughout the day to protect voices.  All participating schools will be provided with sheet music of Craig’s arrangements so that choirs can perform them back in school and/or groups of singers can rehearse their parts and record for exam coursework submissions.  This will also lead to an exciting performance opportunity as part of a Leeds secondary schools choir in July 2025 – details to be announced soon.  Both events are fully funded by ArtForms as part of the new West Yorkshire Music Hub\, with no charge to Leeds schools.  Booking details to follow.  For more information please contact Jane.Roe@leeds.gov.uk.

DESCRIPTION:Learn A Symphony In A Day\nMonday 17th February\, 10am-3.30pm The Grammar School at Leeds LS17 8GS \n\nWe are delighted to announce another fantastic opportunity for Leeds students to play alongside professional musicians. Meliora Collective are a flexible group of musicians specialising in chamber music and are currently part of the Leeds International Concert Season  They will be working alongside our City of Leeds Youth Orchestra Conductor\, Mark Edwards to support students to ‘learn a symphony in a day’. This activity will take place on Monday 17th February\, during the Leeds schools’ half term holiday. \n\n\nWe have aimed the day at students who play any string\, wind\, brass or percussion instruments and who can play to around grade 5 standard or above.
