DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce an amazing opportunity that is being held by Calderdale Music for woodwind\, brass and percussion instrumentalists to play and perform with The Band Of The Yorkshire Regiment. \nThe band will run a workshop for students\, followed by a joint performance. The venue is Calderdale Music’s base at The Old Courthouse\, Blackwall\, Halifax Town Centre\, HX1 2DL. The workshop is suitable for pupils grade 4 standard and above.  \nThe Band of the Yorkshire Regiment is one of nineteen UK based Army Reserve Bands. You can find out more on their website. DESCRIPTION:We have exciting opportunity for Leeds students to participate in a solo and chamber workshop with Sterling Elliott and Joseph Havlat on Thursday 22nd February 2024 9.15am – 4.30pm at Pudsey Civic Hall.\nCellist Sterling Elliott is a 2021 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient and the winner of the Senior Division of the 2019 National Sphinx Competition. Already in his young career\, he has appeared with many major orchestras. More information on Sterling can be found here Bio – Sterling Elliott. \nJoseph Havlat is a pianist and composer from Hobart\, Australia\, based in London. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and is now working as a soloist and chamber musician for music very new\, very old and some things in between. More information on Joseph can be found here Joseph Havlat\, pianist and composer. \nThis day is for instrumentalists playing at grade 2+ level who are working towards solo work either for an exam or an upcoming performance i.e. concert\, GCSE recording. They’ll be performing a selection of traditional Christmas music along with some lesser-known works\, and there’ll be an opportunity for you to join in and sing your favourite carols.\nThe Leeds Youth Singers are delighted to be singing along with the Festival Chorus at this magical event.\nTickets can be purchased here. \nBooking is now open and advanced booking is recommended! Click here to book online. \n£24 – Standard ticket with a reserved seat \n£18 – unreserved seating at the back of the church \n£12 – Concession (full-time student or under 25) \nWheelchair spaces are available\, with an accompanying seat that will be booked for no extra cost. \n  \nConcert Details \nThe concert will last approximately 2.5 hours with a 20 minute interval. Refreshments will be available during the interval. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce that a fantastic opportunity has arisen for Leeds students to spend the day making music with saxophonist Jess Gillam MBE on 11th December 2023 at Pudsey Civic Hall.\nJess was the winner of the woodwind category for BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2016\, and has been in great demand ever since and has even presented her own radio 3 programme. More information about her can be found on her website jessgillamsax.co.uk \nThis event is free to all strings\, brass\, woodwind and percussion students studying in Leeds at grade 4 or above and has been supported by LMEP and Leeds International Concert Season.
