Horsforth Music Centre is holding a Dust Off Your Case Day – a morning workshop for anyone who has ever played a woodwind or brass instrument to an intermediate or advanced level\, and would like to give it a go again in a friendly\, low-pressure environment. (For the rhythm section\, we can also accommodate a limited number of guitarists\, bassists and pianists). You’ll spend the morning working on jazz and concert band repertoire with the support of experienced Music Centre teaching staff and existing band members. Juniper are a group of musicians who specialise in creating a contemporary slant on folk music and are current part of the Leeds International Concert Season. DESCRIPTION:As part of the composers’ project that we have been involved in we have been offered a fantastic opportunity to be working alongside Nikki Iles. \nNikki Iles is running a workshop with us and we’re having an extended session of 5pm-9pm on Tuesday 28th January 2025. \nNikki is a huge figure in British jazz as a pianist\, composer\, and bandleader. She has recorded extensively both as a leader and as a side woman and has taught at some of the best conservatoires across the UK and Europe\, including Leeds College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Her pieces are regularly accepted onto the jazz and classical syllabuses for ABRSM.

DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce the ArtForms Brass Development Day 2025. There has been a large amount of brass development work going on in Leeds over the last year. This is the first opportunity for a number of newly established training brass bands to join together with other brass learners across the city to make music on a larger scale. They will be teaming up with our very own youth music groups Leeds Schools’ Brass Ensemble (LSBE) and Leeds Schools’ Wind Orchestra (LSWO)\, to create a fantastic opportunity for skill sharing\, workshops and performances. \nWe have aimed the day at students (Y4 and above) who play any brass instruments and who have been playing for at least one year. We would like to extend the invitation to any students having private lessons or non-Artforms school tuition. \nThere is no charge for taking part\, but parents and carers are responsible for transport to and from Pudsey Civic Hall on the day.  Rehearsals will be staffed by qualified ArtForms teachers. SUMMARY:Secondary Singing Day with Craig Lees
DESCRIPTION:On Friday 14th March – 10:00-3:00 at Pudsey Civic Hall\, we are hosting the return of our annual secondary vocal workshop and performance event with Craig Lees of Leeds Conservatoire and Living Vocally.  All secondary schools in Leeds are invited to take part in this event for individual singers and choirs from KS3\, KS4 and 6th form.  The structure of the day will be to learn 2 pop song arrangements in multiple parts and then to perform them en masse at the end of the day.  Regular breaks will be planned throughout the day to protect voices.  All participating schools will be provided with sheet music of Craig’s arrangements so that choirs can perform them back in school and/or groups of singers can rehearse their parts and record for exam coursework submissions.  This will also lead to an exciting performance opportunity as part of a Leeds secondary schools choir in July 2025 – details to be announced soon.  Both events are fully funded by ArtForms as part of the new West Yorkshire Music Hub\, with no charge to Leeds schools.  Booking details to follow.  For more information please contact Jane.Roe@leeds.gov.uk.
