DESCRIPTION:The Youth Music Festival Celebration Concert will involve over 500 children who will show off their talents at the Leeds First Direct Arena.\nIt will officially open the summer youth music festival which will run from the 21st June until the end of July.\nOver 500 children and young people will come together in the arena from across the city to celebrate their musical talents\, culminating in a grand finale with a specially commissioned song for the event ‘The Future’s in our Hands’. DESCRIPTION:This has been rearranged due to the NEU strikes – previously 1st February\, now 22nd March! \nCreate and Sing is a CPD opportunity for teachers to learn how to explore opera with school children through practical engagement with the repertoire. Delegates explore a classroom based project\, linked to the national curriculum\, and designed to give children a better understanding of singing and opera by unlocking their imagination and creativity. \nThis is the second year we are running the Create and Sing project. DESCRIPTION:Jazz Camp for Girls lets young musicians experience jazz and explore improvisation with expert tuition from professional musicians.  Participants will gain new skills and be inspired by learning about – and playing alongside- pioneering women in the jazz industry. \nThe camp is designed for musicians aged between 9-15 years of age with little or no experience of improvising.   Students at Grade 3+ will get the most from the experience.
