Our free Primary Arts Network is for any primary teacher interested in finding out more about matters relating to arts and cultural teaching and learning.

We are delighted that for our upcoming network, we will be joined by Kathryn Welford, the Children and Young People’s Programme Manager for Leeds 2023!  This will be a great opportunity to hear more about the festival and how your school can get involved.

The virtual network will be an opportunity for Primary Art/s Leaders to hear about upcoming opportunities; share experiences and make contact with colleagues in a similar role from across the city.   The network is aimed at primary school teachers who have responsibility and/or an interest in the ‘arts’ subjects.  It is free of charge and will be delivered through Zoom, so you can access the network at a location of your choice!

UNESCO’s International Arts Education Week?

UNESCO promote learning in and through the arts and there has been an annual International Arts Education Week since 2012. The aim of the week is to increase the international community’s awareness on the importance of arts education and its impact on cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and social cohesion. They have put together a poster and postcard to download and share with colleagues.

If you’re interested in developing your arts curriculum, you may be interested in the Arts, Culture and Heritage Conference on the 14th June. ArtForms also have networks for Primary Art, Dance, Design and Technology and Music subject leaders. In addition, there are a number of opportunities to work with creative practitioners through creative projects, live music performances or music workshops.
