Following the release of the new National Plan for Music, many Music Leads have been busy working on their School Music Development Plans. One of the important roles given to LMEP is to support schools with this process and to that end we are able to offer a free annual Music Development and Curriculum Review. A member of the ArtForms leadership team can visit you in school and talk through your plan with you at a convenient time.

The process can include a look at:

Planning

Resources

Staff CPD

Inclusion and SEND support

Assessment

Live music and visiting artists

Non-curricular music

Performances and events

Documentation

OFSTED preparation

We are able to offer support and advice or sometimes just a second pair of eyes to look over it all! If you would like to book in a review meeting at your school, please send an email to educ.artforms@leeds.gov.uk.

Delivered by experienced visual artist, Lou Sumray, this session will explore how sketchbooks can be used as a rich resource, for recording and documenting pupils ideas and inspiration. Used effectively, sketchbooks can be embedded across the curriculum and can allow children to focus their thoughts, think creatively and reflect on their learning. This is a hands on, practical session, designed to give you the confidence to develop the use of sketchbooks in your own classroom.
