Our ‘Leading Your School to Success in Primary D&T’ is almost full so please don’t miss out and book your place!

This interactive course will provide a range of inspiring ideas and practical strategies to help you implement National Curriculum requirements, whilst raising standards in D&T across your school.

The course will be led by Gareth Pimley, Primary D&T Specialist, who has nearly 20 years teaching experience and is renowned nationally for providing advice, support and training in design and technology (D&T) to schools, local authorities, companies and other organisations nationally.

The course will take place on Wednesday 12th October, 9am – 4pm at The Carriageworks Theatre, Millennium Square, Leeds, LS2 3AD.

Lead your school to success in Primary D&T

This training day is designed to support teachers who have responsibility for leading Design and Technology in their school. It will explore how teachers can best support colleagues to ensure that the Design and Technology curriculum is engaging, well planned and involves progression and assessment opportunities, as well as meeting statutory requirements. There will be a practical element to the day, allowing delegates to test out some of the approaches shared.

First Steps Filmmaking

To support filmmaking in primary schools we are offering this FREE training session, on Thursday 3^rd November.

Using film in the classroom can be an effective way of engaging your pupils and enhancing subjects across the curriculum. This hands on session is designed to provide you with the practical skills and confidence to support your pupils to make films, using an iPad and iMovie. Suitable for KS1 and KS2 teachers. This session will be led by Craig Lawson, an Independent Film Producer with over twenty years’ experience of the media industries and is supported by Into Film.

3D Computer Aided Design

Using ICT to bring your designs to life!

Computer Aided Design (CAD) is an integral aspect of the product design process. Using ICT software, CAD enables pupils to model, adapt and develop their ideas. It helps them to visualise what their product will actually look like and replicates the design process as it happens in the ‘real world’. This is a practical session, allowing you the opportunity to test out a range of suitable software which you can then use back in your school setting.
