National Drama is the leading national association for drama teachers and theatre educators. They are offering a subsidised half day CPD workshop for teachers in Leeds on Tuesday 8 October 2019 from 1:15 – 4:30 pm at Manor Wood Primary School, Carr Manor Road, Leeds LS17 5DJ (NB: Manor Wood Primary School was previously known as Carr Manor Primary School).

The training will be delivered by nationally recognised drama in education practitioners: Geoff Readman, Deborah Pakkar-Hull and Anthony Haddon. The session will:

• Introduce drama strategies to teachers who are new to drama;
• Engage teachers in a drama experience that deepens their knowledge of drama skills, conventions and form;
• Highlight the learning potential when teacher and pupils work collaboratively in role;
• Provide resources that can be used in the classroom.

Drama can be a fantastic way to get children actively engaged in their learning.  It can get pupils talking and listening, developing their thoughts and ideas.   This way in to concepts and ideas can then provide the content for a piece of writing and help support children to put their thoughts down on paper.

This one day practical workshop is suitable for all KS1 and KS2 primary teachers*.
