Primary D&T: Mechanical Systems

1pm – 4pm, Thursday 14th March 2019

Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills

This training course will explore Mechanical Systems in the Primary Design and Technology national curriculum. It is designed for teachers with responsibility for D&T. However, it will also be of use to class teachers.

The session will include:

an overview of the D&T Programme of Study and how it can be applied
an exploration of different types of mechanical system
hands on activities and skill development

Art, Craft and Design Conference 2017: high schools!

Pop the 12th July in your diaries! It’s almost time for the annual Learning Improvement Art, Craft and Design Conference 2017.

Hosted by Leeds College of Art, the focus of the day will be on the journey of a young artist. We are delighted to welcome Paul Carney to Leeds as our keynote speaker. The day will include the opportunity to participate in a number of workshops which will explore and develop teachers’ knowledge and practical skills, ranging from big ideas for Key Stage 3 to Illustration and Ceramics. The workshops will be led by local experts and will allow delegates the opportunity to experience some of the Leeds College of Art’s excellent facilities.

Art & Design Conference 2016

For Art & Design teachers in Primary and Secondary schools, this regional conference on the 4th July 2016 is not to be missed.

Taking place at Leeds College of Art, the focus of the day is on raising the attainment and aspiration of our most vulnerable pupils, within the context of the world of art and design. The day is designed to enthuse and excite teachers of art and design from all education phases. Teachers will have the opportunity to develop their own skills and learn about different progression routes in the arts, within the Yorkshire region.
