Get the most out of sketchbooks in your school

2pm – 4pm, Tuesday 14th June 2022

For Key Stage 2 pupils, the use of sketchbooks is a National Curriculum requirement. Used effectively, sketchbooks can be embedded across the curriculum and can allow children to focus their thoughts, think creatively and reflect on their learning. Using a sketchbook can be beneficial for children of all ages.

This face to face session will explore how sketchbooks can be developed as a rich resource, for recording, researching and documenting pupils’ ideas and inspiration. It is designed to give you the confidence to develop the use of sketchbooks in your own classroom. The session will be delivered in the inspirational space of Leeds Art Gallery.

Delegates will:

Explore how a sketchbook can be used to evidence teaching and learning in art.

Undertake a practical activity, modelling an approach.

Share ideas and best practice in the use of sketchbooks.

To book a place on the course, please visit Leeds for Learning or for any enquiries, please contact jane.zanzottera@leeds.gov.uk
