Primary Art, Craft and Design

Primary Art Network: Tuesday 17th May 2022, 3.45pm – 4.45pm, online: the curriculum focus for this session is 3D. (FREE)

Sketchbooks in School: Tuesday 14th June 2022, 2pm – 4pm.  This session will be delivered face to face at Leeds Art Gallery.

Primary Art Network: Wednesday 6th July 2022, 3.45pm – 4.45pm, online: the curriculum focus for this session is supporting pupils to evaluate art. (FREE)

 

Primary Design and Technology (D&T)

D&T: Subject knowledge and skills development: Wednesday 11th May 2022, 2pm – 4pm, online.   The focus of this session is on Structures and Mechanical Systems.

D&T: Cooking in the Curriculum: Tuesday 7th June 2022, 9.30am – 1.30pm.  This session will be delivered face to face at Allerton CE Primary School.

The sessions are targeted at primary Art/D&T leaders and will provide delegates with the essential ‘need to know’ aspects of each subject. The session will be delivered on Zoom, which includes practical activities and the opportunity to network with colleagues from other schools.

Drama supports speaking and listening, encourages reading and writing and can help to build children’s confidence and self-esteem.

National Drama is the leading national association for drama teachers and theatre educators. They are offering a subsidised half day CPD workshop for teachers in Leeds on Tuesday 8 October 2019 from 1:15 – 4:30 pm at Manor Wood Primary School, Carr Manor Road, Leeds LS17 5DJ (NB: Manor Wood Primary School was previously known as Carr Manor Primary School).

The training will be delivered by nationally recognised drama in education practitioners: Geoff Readman, Deborah Pakkar-Hull and Anthony Haddon. The session will:

• Introduce drama strategies to teachers who are new to drama;
• Engage teachers in a drama experience that deepens their knowledge of drama skills, conventions and form;
• Highlight the learning potential when teacher and pupils work collaboratively in role;
• Provide resources that can be used in the classroom.
