CPD opportunities with the Royal Opera House

Music Connect, led by ArtForms Music, is offering schools the opportunity to work with the Royal Opera House in a new programme introducing opera to school children.  Create and Sing Hansel and Gretel is an innovative drama and singing programme which includes:

  1. Two twilight CPD training events for teachers –
    • Wednesday 20th April – 3:45-5:15 online.
    • Wednesday 18th May – 1:30-4:30 face to face at Pudsey Civic Hall.

2. Access to the Create and Sing Hansel and Gretel Scheme of Work

Specialist ROH drama and music practitioners will introduce the programme, pedagogy and resources before guiding teachers through effective approaches to supporting students’ creative learning by exploring opera.  Teachers are not required to have specialist Music experience because the certified training and unique online resources help guide them through the programme every step of the way.  The objective is to enable children to create opera inspired music together in the classroom supported by their teachers.

This project is fully funded by the Royal Opera House and so there is no charge to Leeds schools.  There will be a presentation on the project from the Royal Opera House at the next Primary Music Leaders Network.
