Arts

We are a small, dedicated team with many years’ experience of working with teachers, artists, children and young people.   We are committed to delivering and brokering high quality cultural learning opportunities across art, drama, dance, media, written and spoken word in order to:

  • raise achievement in and through the arts;
  • foster a sense of enjoyment and fulfilment in learning through the arts;
  • increase the numbers of children and young people actively participating in arts and cultural activity;
  • ensure the arts and cultural offer is high quality, dynamic and relevant.

The ArtForms Arts Development offer for 2021/22 includes:

Support and guidance

This is available for schools that require bespoke support in the arts.   It can include:

  • Arts – strategic visioning and action planning
  • Art and D&T subject leader support and development
  • Art and D&T curriculum development
  • Whole staff training and teacher CPD (Knowledge and Skills)

This support can be purchased as part of our 2 day Curriculum Support in the Arts package.  For schools that require less time, there is the option to purchase support for 1 day, half day or a twilight session.   These are all available through Leeds for Learning.  If you wish to discuss how we could work with you, please contact jane.zanzottera@leeds.gov.uk

CPD and Training

We deliver training throughout the year for primary Art and Design and Technology subject leaders.  Over three sessions, subject leaders will consider:

  •  Curriculum planning  (Autumn)
  • Subject knowledge and skills development (Spring)
  • An in depth look at an aspect of the curriculum (Summer)

This training can be purchased on a ‘pay as you go’ basis.  However, schools will receive a discount when they book three training courses for the same subject.  For further information about primary Art and/or Design and Technology training, please visit Leeds for Learning.

Every half term, we run a Primary Arts Network.  This can be accessed, free of charge, by any teacher with an interest in the arts.  It is delivered virtually and takes place afterschool.   To see the dates for 2021/22, please visit Leeds for Learning.
