Leeds Music Education Partnership Bursaries for Schools

Dear Headteacher / Head of Music

The Leeds Music Education Partnership (the music education hub for Leeds) has funding to offer bursaries to assist children who are entitled to free school meals on grounds of income to have small group instrumental or vocal lessons in school. It does not cover the universal provision of free school meals for KS1 children and excludes whole class instrumental or vocal learning, large ensembles and choirs.

Click here to see the application form for the scheme.

In order to reflect need across the city, we will be awarding bursaries in proportion to the number of children eligible for FSM at your school. As in previous years, there is a fixed budget to support the scheme. We do not yet know how many applications we will receive from each school, and it is not possible to tell you in advance how many bursaries your school may receive.

Please complete the form and return by email to educ.artforms@leeds.gov.uk to the attention of Aretha Suen in the ArtForms office by 23 October 2020.

Please attach a photocopy of the instrumental/vocal teacher’s register of learners to support your application.

We will then credit your school budget up to £100 for each named pupil for whom it has been possible to grant a bursary for the full 2020/21 academic year. The amount claimed should be the same as the charge to the student, if applicable.
