After October half-term, North Leeds Music Centre will be re-locating from Carr Manor Community School to Allerton C of E Primary School, on Lingfield Approach in Alwoodley.
The popular centre, which provides a huge range of affordable music tuition and ensembles for all ages, has been running at Carr Manor for 21 years (9 years in the new building), having originally started out at Tinshill Middle School in the 1970s. The move gives the centre the opportunity to explore new ways of working with local communities, whilst becoming more cost-effective in response to the budget challenges faced by all Leeds City Council services.
Allerton C of E (on the site of the old Archbishop Cranmer Primary School) is a pleasant, modern building, about 1 mile north of Carr Manor, near to King Lane Park & Ride. It is easily accessible from the Ring Road, and is on the number 7 bus route from Carr Manor (MAP).
All other aspects of the centre’s timetable and provision will remain exactly the same following the move – all that will change is the address. Our last session at Carr Manor will be on October 17th; we will then start at Allerton C of E on November 7th.
