Leeds Schools’ String Orchestra

Leeds Schools’ String Orchestra rehearse 6.30-8pm on Fridays at Pudsey Civic Hall, LS28 5TA.

If you are interested in joining this group please email educ.artforms@leeds.gov.uk

LSSO is FREE this year thanks to funding from Leeds Music Education Partnership.

LSSO returns on Friday 15th September!

If you would like to attend a trial rehearsal to see if LSSO is for you, we are holding open rehearsals on  26th January and 3rd May.

This orchestra is for those who play violin, viola, cello or double bass at around Grade 1-4 standard, although you don’t have to have taken any grades.

We explore the skills needed to play in an ensemble as well as developing musicianship and encouraging creativity. Our members enjoy playing a broad range of music, including classical, pop, jazz and folk.

There are no auditions for this group and we welcome anyone interested to come along and try it out.  You don’t need to have any previous ensemble experience to join.  If you can play a one or two octave scale confidently and read notation without fingering, this is the group for you.

LSSO is a great introduction to orchestral playing in a supportive and friendly environment.

Conductor: Thomas Shone
