Roots Alive

Roots Alive rehearse 5-6.30pm on Fridays at Pudsey Civic Hall, LS28 5TA.

To find out more information about this group, please contact educ.artforms@leeds.gov.uk, or enrol here.

Roots Alive play traditional and folk music from both Britain and around the world, on a range of instruments – mainly strings (e.g. violins, guitars and mandolins) and woodwind (especially flutes and whistles), but also including hand percussion and accordions. We also regularly go on a weekend residential during the spring term with the Leeds Youth Singers.

The group is for players who are grade 4 and above standard and have a willingness / ability to play by ear or memory. We don’t hold auditions but do encourage prospective members to join us for a trial rehearsal.

Director: Gill Pearson
