‘On demand’ staff training

Support for non specialists in Art and D&T

In the recent Ofsted research review on art, craft and design, the report states “school leaders need to ensure that they give teachers and subject leaders enough time and support to develop their subject content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge.  If teachers lack this knowledge, they will struggle to provide a rich, subject-specific curriculum that develops pupils’ knowledge and capabilities.”

ArtForms Arts Development can help develop the knowledge and practical skills of your class teachers, through staff twilight sessions available in art and/or D&T.    In previous schools, we have delivered the following areas:

Art, craft and design

  • an introduction to art
  • sketchbooks
  • drawing
  • painting
  • sculpture

D&T

  • an introduction to D&T
  • structures
  • mechanical systems
  • textiles

However, we can also tailor something  to suit the needs of your staff.

Details of how to book, can be found on Leeds for Learning.  If you wish to discuss this, or have any questions, please contact jane.zanzottera@leeds.gov.uk.
