Here at ArtForms we recognise the importance of joining an ensemble, not only because it improves musical skills and techniques, but also because it has many social and wellbeing benefits. Our City of Leeds Youth Music groups (CLYM) have spaces available in all ensembles for all instruments and it would be fantastic to see some new faces. These ensembles offer the highest level of music-making opportunities to children and young people aged 19 and under, from the early stages of ensemble playing right through to our youth orchestras and other advanced groups.
For a complete list of CLYM ensembles, please visit City of Leeds Youth Music. To see what joining our ensembles can lead to, watch our short video – https://youtu.be/FKqtobZfmLo.
Our beginner ensembles are completely free this year thanks to Leeds Music Education Partnership (LMEP) funding. This includes our Leeds Schools’ String Orchestra and Leeds Schools’ Brass Ensemble.
Our aim is to give all children and young people in Leeds the opportunity to discover the magic of music making in a group and to cultivate a lasting love of music. We hope to encourage more children to try an ensemble and therefore enhance their musical enjoyment.
