Free access to beginner ensembles for all children and young people in Leeds!

Ensamble

Due to LMEP funding, all beginner ensembles in both music centres and City of Leeds Youth Music groups (CLYM) are completely free this year. Here at ArtForms, we recognise the importance of joining an ensemble, not only as it improves musical skills and techniques, it also has many social and wellbeing benefits. The New National Plan for Music emphasises the need for schools and music hubs to support children and young people in experiencing playing in ensembles and is seen as an integral part of learning an instrument.

We have a free beginner ensemble in 6 of our Saturday morning Music Centres at Guiseley, Horsforth, North Leeds, Rothwell, South Leeds and Wetherby. Our two beginner Youth Music groups are also free; Leeds Schools’ String Orchestra and Leeds Schools’ Brass Ensemble.  More information about these ensembles can be found here.

Our aim is to give all children and young people in Leeds the opportunity to discover the magic of music making together and cultivate a lasting love of music. We hope this offer will encourage more children to try an ensemble, therefore enhancing their musical enjoyment.
