Secondary Music Leaders Network Session 1

The first of three sessions offering Curriculum support, practical music-making and sharing best practice.  All Secondary Music Leaders are very welcome!  During this session we will be looking at project planning, Post-16 provision and a resource/equipment ‘swapshop’.

Primary Music Leaders Network Session 1

Boys CAN Sing
Tuesday 12th November 2019, 4.15-5.45pm, Pudsey Civic Hall
In this practical session, we’ll explore the Sing Up website and find the best songs to use to support singing with boys. Sing Up membership for a year (value up to £265) is included for your school with this session.

KS1 Little Sing: A Journey Into Space

An immersive Musical Experience for KS1 children, bring a class of children to enjoy our session of singing and moving – and it’s a great CPD session for staff too!

Fabulous Phonics
Monday 23rd March 2020, 4.15-5.45pm, Pudsey Civic Hall
There is much research available to show that music and speech share many of the same processing systems, and that active engagement with music aids the brain’s early encoding of linguistic sounds.  This workshop is an essential guide to using music and singing to develop phonics and literacy in Early Years and Key Stage 1.

Big Samba
Thursday 16th July 2020, Pudsey Civic Hall
Following on from the success of our previous Samba projects, we’d like to invite you to take part in Leeds Big Samba 2020.  This project will consist of a CPD session for teachers, a workshop for children in school and a sharing performance at Pudsey Civic Hall.    All Leeds Schools and Academies can apply, prior experience of leading Samba is not essential.  We have space for 14 schools to take part – 7 in each session (morning or afternoon).  The closing date for entries is 1st May and applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis.
