The Leeds Youth Music Festival 2022 began two weeks ago with over 36 concerts across 36 days, both in person and online, aiming to celebrate the musical talents of our city’s children and young people.
The opening night was on Friday 10th June at Cornerstone Church in Headingley. It included four of our junior and intermediate CLYM ensembles, with an impressive 26 primary and secondary schools represented.
Since then, there have been two weeks of music-making featuring concerts from two music centres, folk workshops and concerts, Bollywood Brass and plenty of singing in the three LSMA Big Sing events.
There are many exciting events still to come. For full details, please visit https://artformsleeds.co.uk/networks/leeds-music-education-partnership/news-and-events/. There is also a special extension to the Festival to include the City of Leeds Youth Orchestra concert at Selby Abbey on Tuesday 19th July and CLYO conductor’s, Dougie Scarfe, final concert.
