We are delighted to be able to offer you a special discount on two courses that are coming up in the first half of the Spring Term. Both of the training sessions support the development of pupils’ oracy and literacy skills. Effective Debating for Schools: Friday 11th January 2019, 1pm – 4pm at West Leeds Activity Centre

Debating is a vital life skill which can enhance outcomes for children socially and emotionally as well as academically as has been evidenced by Leeds schools who have engaged in this programme over the last three years. It is an excellent preparation for persuasive and discursive writing through the focus on developing the language of persuasion and discussion and leads to confident writers and communicators who have clear opinions and the language and skills to express them effectively.

Creative Approaches to Support Writing: Wednesday 6th February 2019, 1pm – 4pm at Armley Mills Industrial Museum

The arts are an excellent way to engage pupils in their learning, providing pupils with tangible experiences. They not only develop knowledge and skills, but also raise confidence and self-esteem. Working creatively allows pupils to question and test out ideas in a collaborative way and can be an effective approach to developing pupils’ written work.
