City of Leeds Youth Orchestra

CLYO, first formed in 1967, is a 70-strong group of young orchestral musicians playing at the highest standards. The orchestra is conducted by Mark Edwards, and welcomes string, woodwind, brass and percussion players of approximately Grade 6 standard and above. Generally, CLYO members are between 13 and 18 years old. CLYO play the full range of symphonic repertoire and perform in venues across Leeds. CLYO members also have the opportunity to go on residentials and tours. In July 2024, they toured the Rhineland, Germany with the City of Leeds Youth Wind Orchestra and in July 2025 they went on a residential to Giggleswick.
